Teen and Pre-Teen Dances
Are parents allowed to stay in the dance?
While we do invite parents and guardians to stop in to meet staff and learn about our program, we ask that they do not stay during programs.
What steps are taken to ensure my youths safety while taking part in the dance?
All of our staff have current first aid certificates and take part in a number of different trainings throughout the year. During the dance our staff are very visible, communicate via radio and are all able to handle situations that may arise. All of our programs are free from nicotine, alcohol and other drugs and we take a zero tolerance stance on these issues and issues of violence.
What if my youth wants to participate but is not old enough?
If you have a youth who is interested in participating but is not quite old enough yet, give us a call and we may have a program that is suitable for them.
Are ‘in-outs’ permitted?
No-however, all of our dances are considered drop in programs which means that your youth is free to leave the dance when they choose. When this arises, staff encourage youth to stay in the dance or encourage the youth to call home before leaving.
Are the dances age appropriate?
Yes-staff monitor music that is played, dress that youth wear when they enter the dance and the behaviour of all participants.
