"It is a unique program that delivers quality after school programming for children in grades 1-7. The program has affordable rates for working parents, allowing them to pay for only the days needed rather than a flat monthly rate. This is a huge deal for working parents, struggling through hard economic times. Programs run directly out of the schools, which is convenient and safe for children. I work with an amazing group of children at our school and everyday is an adventure with them. I look forward to seeing them everyday!"

“For the past three years our two sons have participated in the Youth Futures Program, volunteering at the summer camps and learning leadership skills. They also took part in many other training programs, including camping trips to Alouette, learning games for children, First Aid & CPR. They have developed a solid bond with the leaders at the Greg Moore Youth Centre and feel a sense of community involvement and respect. They have had support from the Youth Centre in their personal lives also which shows them that when they give their time and energy, they get something back from their peers. They also understand that volunteering is an important part of their high school years and is a well respected effort. Last year our other two children started their leadership training and volunteering and enjoyed being "in charge" and responsible. When I tell friends about how our kids spend their summer, they comment on what an excellent program it is and wish they had one in their district. We look forward to our children having this opportunity for many more years and possibly working towards a position within the Youth Centre.“

“I began my journey working with Children’s services in Fall of 2007 and Youth Services in January 2009. My personal highlights are working with the drop-in skateboarding programs with YOI and Summer Adventure Camp with Children's.
I feel blessed to work in the recreational field, as it is such a healthy job for your body and your mind. The benefits of my job are extremely positive. I work with an amazing team of staff that are supportive and encouraging. And the rewards I reap with the connections I build with youth are endless. This job provides you with an opportunity to take all the things that make you stoked in life and share it with others. It emphasises on healthy living, personal connections, communication skills, and importance of play, goal setting, and most importantly the act of giving. I feel very lucky to have the job I have, for it is a RAD one!”
